About Me: Greetings, I'm Ben Ledet, a proud native of Houma, Louisiana, where my dedication to youth sports and umpiring has been a cornerstone of my professional journey. With a background deeply rooted in baseball, I bring a unique blend of playing, coaching, and officiating experience to my role as Site Director at OTC.
My tenure with OTC began in 2015, starting as an umpire and quickly rising through the ranks to assume the responsibilities of Site Director for the past two years. This journey has allowed me to witness firsthand the inner workings of youth sports organization and develop a keen understanding of the needs and expectations of players, coaches, and spectators alike.
As a seasoned LHSAA umpire, now in my 9th season, I approach each game with a commitment to fairness, integrity, and professionalism. My on-field experience not only ensures the smooth operation of tournaments but also enables me to provide valuable insights and guidance to fellow umpires and participants.
Beyond officiating, my passion for baseball extends to coaching, where I dedicated eight years to nurturing young talent in travel baseball, spanning various age groups from 8 to 13. These coaching experiences have shaped my approach to leadership, emphasizing mentorship, skill development, and fostering a love for the game.
My roots in baseball run deep, having played High School baseball at ED White Catholic, where I first fell in love with the sport. Those formative years instilled in me a sense of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship that continues to guide my professional endeavors today.
As a Site Director, I am committed to upholding the values of OTC Sports, ensuring that every participant has a positive and enriching experience. With a focus on organization, communication, and a passion for the game, I look forward to contributing to the success and growth of youth athletics in our community.
